New Years Eve

New Year's Eve started with brunch at Village Inn in Logan and then we headed to Logan Lanes for some friendly competition in bowling. Don't remind Uncle MyMy that even some of the kids beat him!

Kirra and Andreanna posing for the camera together.Grandpa & Grandma McEntire with baby Dallin Kirra and Andreanna playing Ring Around the Rosie. Kirra really was much more into playing with her older cousin than she was bowling.
Kirra, Jackson, Jaron, and Andreanna Joe Bear eating some pretzels to keep him happy! Aunt Wendy brought a chocolate fountain for the New Year's Eve party! The kids were in heaven (and so was I)!
A few minutes after midnight found the cousins outside in the frigid weather to do some Pops and celebrate the new year!
The trio who made it to midnight! Jace and Wendy had promised their kids they could stay up until midnight and bring in the new year so Kirra went right along with their plan. They were anxious all night for "midnight" though I'm not certain any of them knew what it meant. We called them up from playing to watch the TV as the new year came to be and then we all celebrated with some sparkling apple cider and clinks of our glasses. After the pops outside, Kirra was clearly overtired and started to cry. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "That wasn't a party! Where was the party?" I guessed we must have said something about a New Year's Eve party and that's what she was waiting for!

Mike & Jenni Get Married

We were privileged to attend Scott's sister's wedding while we were in Utah. Jenni married Mike Whiteley on December 28, 2007 in the Odgen Temple. It was a beautiful ceremony! The new Mr. & Mrs. Whiteley
Mike & Jenni with their parents and their children.
5 Boys! That's the count with Jenni's three boys: Matt, Connor, and Brigham & Mike's two: Cameron and Carson. Should be crazy in the Whiteley house on the weekends!
This is our niece, Andreanna. She was thrilled to be the one to catch Jenni's bouquet!

In Idaho

These are some random pictures from our visit in Idaho. I really should be better about wedding through the 100's of pictures I take, but I have a really hard time doing that!

Uncle Brett and Kade - my brothers are such great Uncles! My kids are so lucky to have such amazing guys to call Uncle!
Where's Kade? Hiding behind Uncle Brett's cowboy hat!
What a face!
Rocker Bretty with his guitar, hat, and sweats!
Seems to be a theme to how my kids get treated when they pose for pictures with Daddy and Uncles.
Cowboy Brett and Kade.
A real life cowboy, Grandpa Parke and a wanna-be cowboy Brett. Curtis Parke is an amazing man!
Ah, who made my boy so sad?
Uncle Nick and his kids. Nick has his own camera and likes to have pictures taken with his niece and nephew - so that is why there is often an uneven amount of pictures with Uncle Nick!
Two handsome boys after church. The one on the left is available if anyone is interested! :)
Kirra and Kade got to open their presents from Aunt Rena a little early - and they loved them!
Kade loving his "Melmo" body pillow!
Kirra loves PINK and the fact that her pillow says High School Musical made it all the better. She has only seen the show once, but she knows Katie and Kendra love it. . .that means she does too!

Christmas Day 2007

Christmas Eve Nativity

The Christmas Eve Nativity at the Fowler house was quite interesting! Kirra, of course, wanted to be Mary and then she decided what everyone else should pretend to be.

Shepherd Papa & Wisewoman Nana Shepherd Uncle Brett - he decided he looked more like a schieck than a shepherd.
What a group! It was so wonderful to be together!
Kirra really wanted Uncle Nick to be the donkey - though when it came time for her to ride to Bethlehem she didn't want to get on, so Uncle Brett did!

Shepherd Kade.
Kirra was so proud when she was the center of attention and the shepherds came to see baby Jesus.
Kade just enjoyed watching us and nicely minding his own business.
Angel Amber. . .not quite sure why I picked what I was wearing, but the light in the background made for a cool halo effect!

Christmas Eve Cookies

So they were from a boxed mix. . . .what difference does it make? Here's Kirra mixing in the water and eggs! Uncle Brett showing us his muscular talents!
Kade and Nana - um......Kade, look over here!
Nick and Brett groaned a little about coming up and making cookies but once they got started they created some masterpieces.
It's always nice to jump in a picture myself, just to let my posterity know I was actually there!
I LOVE this picture! Kirra doesn't do things like that very often, so it was totally random and I'm glad I got it on camera.

Santa & Bowling

On Christmas Eve Scott and I headed to the mall for some quick shopping and the kids rode over to Twin Falls with Nana, Papa, Nick & Brett. We met in the center court to pay a visit to Santa Claus. Here's a tip . . . visit Santa on Christmas Eve! Everyone in the mall is there because they have last minute shopping to get done and could care less about their kids sitting on Santa's lap. There was no wait, though Kirra refused and wanted nothing to do with him, but Kade was intrigued by the candycane Santa was waving at him. He sat on his lap with a sad little look as was glad I rescued him quickly. The man running the photos is a good friend of Dad's and he was kind enough to let us all take a picture with Santa and then give us three copies of the pictures - one for my mom and dad, one for me, and one for my brothers. My dad's friend thought he would be funny and digitally added mustaches to all of us - we're quite the group! Kirra was not impressed, especially in the fact that the girls had mustaches! Dad said that his mustache hadn't been so dark in years. . . his is very gray now. After the mall we headed to the Twin Falls Bowladrome for a little bowling. It was Kade's first real experience and he loved it. Here Kade is with Uncle Nick.
Kade was helping Papa decide which ball would knock down the most pins.
The Bowladrome's handicapped bowling apparatus (also used by my kids as a bowling helper) left a lot to be desired. We've had much better ones in other bowling alleys!
Papa was trying to get Kade to look at the camera. . .he wasn't very successful!
All fresh and clean, ready to get into pajamas, get to bed and wait for Santa to come.

Grandpa & Grandma Parke

Grandpa & Grandma Parke came to Wendell for a day while we were there to exchange Christmas presents and enjoy being with Kirra and Kade. Grandpa has taking quite a liking in my little boy and really loves hearing stories about him. . . especially when Kade is making messes.

Here's Nick and Grandpa. My brothers are so close with their Grandpa - it is awesome!Nick loves being an Uncle! Look at those beautiful smiles!
Kirra enjoyed Grandpa and was eager to climb up on his lap for a picture.
Oh, how I love my girl! Brett commented that I better lose some weight, look at those 14 chins!
Da boys and their Armorall Wipes from G&G. Kirra was a little peeved Nick got the purple ones so we made a switch before we left.
Kirra gets some lovin' from Grandpa & Grandma Parke. We really got some great shots that day!
Kirra and Grandma. They have a special bond because Grandma often sends Kirra packages in the mail full of lace, buttons, shells, really anything you can think of to craft and make pictures. Kirra is always commenting on "how wonderful that Grandma Parke is!"
What a blessing it is to have my children know their great-grandparents! I am so grateful that they are still here to enjoy Kirra & Kade and make memories that we will be able to treasure forever.
What a mess! One of the gifts my mom unwrapped was packaged in styrofoam that wasn't adhered together very well. Kirra and Kade figured out that it would break apart very easily and started throwing it in the air. It was full of static and stuck to everything! The kids had so much fun with it and we all laughed so hard that is was really worth the huge mess it made. It took the regular vacuum and the ShopVac to get the family room cleaned up. We even had to vacuum all of us! Grandpa and Grandma couldn't remember when they had laughed so hard or watched such an enjoyable show.
My kids and their Nana are pretty much inseparable! We are so lucky that my mom is so amazing and that our kids are totally in love with her!
My grandparents are very near and dear to my heart. They had been a huge part of my life and I feel so fortunate to have spent many wonderful times with them. We have fished, and gardened, sledded, and baked, the list could go on and on. They have been present at all the important functions in my life and have been a great inspiration to me. Grandpa started telling WWII stories that day and I was lucky enough to catch most of it on camera. It will be something to share will all his posterity.
