What to do when you are stuck in a tree and your pregnant mom is in the car reading her book oblivious to the fact you are in peril? Don't expect your younger brother to help - that's for sure! He'll be off swinging happily!
I took the boys to the park one day while Kirra was at piano lessons (seriously shortest 1/2 hour of the week - seems to be like 4 seconds then its time to get her again). I knew they were over climbing the tree at Rotary Park, but they've done it many times before. When it was time to go get Kirra I called for them. I could only see Keian and he was on the swings. He came running over, but I had to call for Kade again and again. Keian then piped up and told me that Kade was putting his pants back on. Um....what? I thought maybe Kade had to go to the bathroom and just decided that park was as good of a place as any.
Turns out on the way down Kade had become stuck on a small branch - and I mean really stuck - like it went straight up through his pants and he couldn't get down! It went through his shorts and even his underwear! He was hanging there wondering what to do as Keian got tired of waiting and went to swing - oh, brother's are awesome. In desperation and some pretty good engineering on his part Kade decided his only option (what - with a mom who can hardly move what was I going to do to help him anyways?) was to take of his shorts and then take off his underwear to free himself. Oh, how I wish I could have been a little bird in the tree watching as he freed himself from his predicament! He was pretty upset when he finally came over to the van to tell me his story.
When we got home I took a look at his shorts and realized he must have left some of his shorts in the tree! He was really stuck! What a good thinker to be crafty enough to get naked in the tree to save himself!
