Kirra played AYSO U6 this year and had a lot of fun as #6 for the "Yellow Dragons"! She still thinks they should have been called the "Yellow Highlighters" - she felt like it described their shirts better than Dragons. She is really fun to watch as she is a great defender always sticking with the ball and making sure the other team wasn't scoring on her watch. Kirra scored 3-6 goals a game for most of the fall and the first part of spring - though it seems the other girls finally started to catch up towards the end of the season and she didn't get to run away from the pack as often during the last few games. That was VERY frustrating for her!
The last game of the regular season was windy and not very warm!
Here are lots of pictures I took that day.
Kade kept climbing in the stroller to try and protect himself from the wind.
Keian just thought he was the coolest guy on the field - he kept telling me "Handsome" since he was wearing his new sunglasses that Nana sent him.
Kirra was still in a Division where they had practice before the game and not during the week. We won't be so lucky next year! She kept her jacket on during practice and here's a picture of her doing a 'throw-in'.
Bubs was helping Daddy out by distributing all the cones from the soccer bag to various parts of the field.
One Cool Dude!
Kade in his favorite spot on earth!
Pretty intent on following that ball!
Can this turn out well?
The halftime feeding! The girls loved when the halftime snack was strawberries. They were like farm animals hitched up to their trough. Yum!
Kirra was so excited for the after game party. Cupcakes, juice and TROPHIES! She had been talking about the trophy all week!
We played at a field that had a really fun playground. The boys thought this rolling slide was one of the best things they had encountered in a long time.
Of course, Kirra found something to hang on! She's our monkey!
Kade had a really nasty run-in with a pole at the playground - here's the evidence.
Kirra & Elise - arch enemies on the field (yes, they were on the same team), but they both cried after the game because Elise is moving at the end of the school year and they'll probably never see each other again. Evedently, in all the competition on the field they bonded so we're going to set up some playdates for them.
