Today was Kirra's first swim meet! She swam every morning at 8 a.m. last summer and never wanted to attend a meet. Last week she had only been to four practices so she didn't feel confident enough to go to the swim meet - but this week she was ready. It was awesome to watch her determination and speed. She surprised us and I think herself! Before her first race (and even after) my heart was pounding in my chest so hard and my stomach felt like it was going to send breakfast back up, and I wasn't even racing.
