M&M's

Kade really enjoyed the M&M's Nana brought him . . . as you can see all over his face! They were in a little M&M guy and by the time Kade was done there were a bunch of smushed, soggy M&M's stuck in the bottom after so many times of putting his wet fingers down into his little blue guy.

He sure didn't care he was a mess!

Gardening

Kirra has been so excited to get our garden started! As you can see we have about the tiniest garden plot on earth, but we do end up with some great peas every year. Scott and I argue back and forth about him cutting back the trees in the back yard so this little area gets more sun - I say NO, and he says YES. He wants more things to grow and I want more shade for Kirra and Kade. So far I'm the winner! Deep knee bends with a plastic shovel.
Kade found the smallest worm I have ever seen and then he got scared of it!
Was he wronged or what?

Popcorn Popping!

I've gotten some reports that Old Man Winter is still hanging on in some areas so I thought I would give you a sneak peek at what's to come! Albuquerque is in full bloom this week! We had a great time outside this afternoon, the kids played and I took pictures. Kirra and Kade think it's awesome that the trees look like they are full of popcorn - Kade keeps poking his eyes out and waving his arms (I looked out the window and what did I see? Popcorn popping. . .) Enjoy!

Cinderella

During Family Home Evening tonight Kade turned into a nut - or rather a princess. He was running around like a crazy man and then noticed his sister starting to put on some dress up clothes. Much to his daddy's demise Kade picked a Cinderella dress to bring to me to help him put on. That Daddy seems to be a funny guy!
Waiting ever so patiently as Daddy helps him unzip his Dora purse.

Icky Banana Man

I knew I was in for a special surprise when Kirra came and got me and said, "Kade made a big, yucky mess with his banana!" Kade was so awful all day today - I want to attribute it to the fact he's getting more teeth and hopefully not getting sick!

Easter Day

McEntire Family on Easter Sunday before heading to church - the kids are snapping like Daddy does to make them look at the camera.Kirra posing on her favorite rock. This is the dress we finally decided on and I think we made a great choice. When I was sick and kept telling Kirra I needed to get better so I could get her and Kade some Easter clothes she told me she wanted a blue Easter dress. I was surprised, but thought I would try and find one if we could. My first shopping trip didn't yield anything blue, but when we went to the mall on Saturday before Easter we walked into the girl's section at Mervyn's and all their Easter dresses were right in the front. This dress was hanging by itself - the only one of it's kind around and it happened to be in a size 5. Kirra is either wearing a size 4 or 5 so when we tried it on we were excited it fit! It even looks great with her little sweater on top. She got many compliments on her dress at church and was beaming the whole day.

Showing off the sticker on her leg after church.
Enjoying the beautiful day by playing on the neighbors side of the wall and feeling mischievous about it. Another try at a family picture - not much cooperation from the kids!
Sharing flowers - oh, they just melt my heart!
Look out world, here I come!
Taking a quick breather from running around like a crazy girl!
Life is good!

Easter Morning

Kirra was up long before her little brother for Easter morning. She flopped around in our bed for about a 1/2 hour impatiently waiting on him. She said she saw some eggs in the bathroom and in the hall, but she didn't peek in the family room. In our home each Easter the Easter bunny hides eggs and little surprises around the house for the kids to find in a morning hunt.

Take a good look at the picture below - Kade's face is priceless. He's got a serious sad face on because Daddy is holding him back while Mommy takes the first picture of the morning - he wanted his eggs! I think Kade is just as excited about Kirra's new Giselle doll - it's a princess you know!
Kade was showing us the inside of the eggs all morning - he ate a disgusting amount of candy!
Easter Morning with the McEntire's.
Kade on the run even while Daddy is trying to wipe the excess chocolate off his hands. He would come to us with a mouth full of jelly beans and chocolate, with his hands covered in the mess and everything drooling down his chin!
The bubbles were a big hit! I should always know the less money you spend, the more the gift is enjoyed!Mr. & Mrs. Cool in their new sunglasses.
Does she know how to strike a pose, or what?
A look of pure joy.
Loungin' while eating MORE chocolate.
Kirra got some Amelia Bedelia books for Easter and had Scott and I read all three to her as soon as the egg hunt was over.
Kade wielding he foam sword with chocolate streaming down his chin. Scott brought a sword back for Kirra and Kade after his last three-day trip to Alamogordo, NM. Kade has used his everyday (sucked on it and bit it almost everyday too) and Kirra's has stayed perfect and protected in her room. When Kade was playing with his sword the day after Scott brought them home Kirra said, "Green really isn't my favorite color (her sword is green) and that's not really the kind of surprise I would pick." I told her that if Daddy had only brought Kade a sword she would have been sad. She said, "Yes, I would have said you only brought Kade a surprise and then I would have cried!"

Dyein' Easter Eggs

Kirra has always loved the annual Easter egg dyeing and this year was no exception! We put Kade to bed - are we awful or what? I am sure he would have LOVED to roll some eggs around in dye, but he was tired and it would have been more of a battle than anything fun for anyone. When I returned from putting Kade to bed Kirra told me her rules of egg dyeing. . .so one makes a pink one until she does!
Some love tickles! I think Kirra's favorite part was writing on the eggs with the white crayon - I know that is Scott's favorite part. He made a mouse, two eyes, a butterfly, and a basketball. It's fun to watch his creativity come out when we do things like this.
We have always taken a little family picture like this each holiday - we did it after we made pretzels for Christmas and was missing Kade then. It just feels a little empty - but we look happy!

After Kirra stuck out her tongue her Daddy gave her some serious tickles and told her she better do a real smile!
